About Bitcoin SV

Bitcoin SV came from a 2018 split of Bitcoin Cash, taking the position that Bitcoin should scale by raising the block size without limit rather than adding layers on top. It has pushed blocks into the gigabyte range in tests, and its focus has been on data storage and enterprise record-keeping on-chain rather than on DeFi or consumer payments. Bitcoin SV split from Bitcoin Cash in 2018 in a second scaling dispute, taking the large-block argument further with the aim of very high on-chain throughput and data storage. It has since had a markedly different trajectory from both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, including delistings from several major exchanges, which has reduced liquidity and made its market behaviour less connected to the broader market. On a bubble map that thin liquidity is the thing to keep in mind: percentage moves can be large without much capital changing hands, so strong colour on a small bubble means less here than it would elsewhere.

Quick answers
How is Bitcoin SV different from Bitcoin Cash?

It split from Bitcoin Cash in 2018, pursuing much larger blocks and on-chain data storage. They are separate chains with separate markets.

Why is BSV's liquidity lower?

It was delisted from several large exchanges, which reduced the venues where it trades. Lower liquidity means the same order size moves the price further.

Does BSV track Bitcoin?

Less closely than its name implies. Its market has been more isolated since the delistings, so its moves are often disconnected from the broader market.

Is a large percentage move always meaningful?

Not on thinly traded assets. A strong colour on a small bubble can reflect a small amount of trading rather than a broad change in demand.
